The 3 Stage Whole House Water Filter is just what your entire house needs. From your shower to your sinks, when you want refreshing, clean water every time you turn the tap, this whole house water gives you fresh water on demand.

This professional-grade filtration system isn’t just good for your home, it’s good for restaurants, business offices, and even apartment complexes. Each stage of filtration scrubs your water of imperfections, leaving your household or business with nothing but clean water that’s safe to use, safe to drink, and free of odors. Here’s how they work:

Stage 1- Sediment Filter

This is where it all begins. Incoming water is run through this filter to remove tiny particles from your water like rust, silt, dirt, and even insect parts. This helps assure that the water you receive is free of these contaminants and won’t clog dishwashers, ice makers, and even pores in your shower heads and faucets.

Stage 2- Granulated Activated Carbon (GAC) Filter

The second filter your water passes through is a GAC filter. The carbon in this filter adsorbs hundreds of chemical-based contaminants including chlorine, pesticides, volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), industrial chemicals, lead, mercury, and benzene. These contaminants stick to the carbon media and leave your water free of high concentrations of chemicals harmful to your health.

Stage 3- Carbon Block Filter

The last filter your water passes through will be the carbon block filter. A 20 inch compressed 5-micron carbon block filter polishes your water before it hits the faucet. Here the water is polished and filtered to remove bad taste and odor-causing chemicals like chlorine, chloramine, sulfur (that rotten egg smell), and even trihalomethanes, which are byproducts of disinfectants and cause cancer.

Of course, none of this would be possible without high-quality components. The NU Aqua 3 Stage Whole House system offers industrial-grade components, from the filter housing to the mounting brackets and all connections. With high capacity, 20” cartridges in each filter housing you’ll be able to filter thousands of gallons of water without fouling. When it’s time to change filters, it’s a simple as taking off the filter housing, slipping in the replacement cartridge, and putting the housing back on.

Whether you need clean water for your entire apartment complex, lots of water for your business, or you just want refreshing water from every faucet in your home, the NU Aqua 3 Stage Whole House Water Filter is exactly what you need. Take better showers, make better coffee, and give yourself the clean, refreshing water you deserve.

More info about GAC and KDF Media

A water filtration system that combines Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) with Kinetic Degradation Fluxion (KDF) is effective at removing a broad range of contaminants, including many pesticides
. The two media work together to target different types of chemicals, leveraging the strengths of both adsorption and oxidation/reduction.
Pesticides and organics removed by GAC
Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) is highly effective at removing many organic compounds through a process called adsorption, where contaminants get trapped in the carbon's tiny pores.
  • Pesticides and Herbicides: GAC can remove a wide variety of pesticides, including commonly found types such as glyphosate (Round-up), Chlordane, and Lindane.
  • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs): This includes industrial chemicals like benzene, toluene, and xylene that can contaminate groundwater.
  • Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs): GAC is an established treatment for contaminants like per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), and certain halogenated hydrocarbons.
  • Chlorine and its byproducts: GAC is highly effective at removing chlorine and related byproducts, which also improves water taste and odor.
Heavy metals and inorganics removed by KDF
KDF is a medium made of high-purity copper and zinc granules that uses a chemical process called redox (oxidation/reduction) to convert harmful contaminants into harmless components.
  • Heavy Metals: KDF can remove up to 98% of water-soluble heavy metals, including:
    • Lead
    • Mercury
    • Nickel
    • Chromium
    • Cadmium
    • Arsenic
  • Inorganic Compounds:
    • Chlorine: KDF can effectively remove chlorine by converting it into benign, water-soluble chloride. This also helps prolong the life of the GAC filter.
    • Hydrogen Sulfide: KDF media can remove the rotten-egg smell of hydrogen sulfide by converting it into an insoluble solid.
    • Iron: Soluble iron ions are oxidized and converted into an insoluble form that can be filtered out.
  • Microorganisms: KDF media also controls the growth of bacteria, fungi, and algae within the filter bed. This keeps the GAC bed from becoming a breeding ground for microorganisms.
Synergy of GAC and KDF
Combining GAC and KDF provides a more comprehensive and durable water filtration system than either media alone.
  • The KDF removes chlorine first, which protects the GAC filter and allows the carbon to focus on removing organic contaminants like pesticides.
  • The KDF's antimicrobial properties prevent the GAC filter bed from growing bacteria and algae.
  • While GAC excels at organic chemical removal, KDF handles many inorganic contaminants that GAC filters do not effectively remove, such as heavy metals and iron.
